Blue Aura ( Established in 2021 ) is a small CFA-registered cattery located near Sacramento, California. We are blessed with the mentorship and guidance from the most experienced Russian Blue breeders to build the foundation of our breeding program.

At Blue Aura Cattery, we commit to ethical and responsible breeding for the cat's quality, health, and temperament. Breeding Russian Blue kittens that meet the CFA standard is our goal. However, our primary purpose is to preserve and protect the breed for future generations. All cats in Blue Aura Cattery tested negative for FeLV / FIV; all breeding cats in Blue Aura Cattery are genetically tested 🧬.

The breeding program was created based on my passion for this breed. I started as a Russian Blue pet owner and owned two beautiful Russian Blue pets. Words can't express how much I am bonded with my cats. I am truly grateful for all the effort breeders put into the breed. Without them, Russian Blue may become extinct. Therefore, I want to do my best to give back to this community. You, as a potential parent of our future kitten, are part of the process too:)

Blue Aura is a Russian Blue Fanciers (RBF) member and soon became a member of CFA Russian Blue Breed Council.

If you are allergic to cats, you are allergic to a Russian Blue.

We have no idea how the idea that the Russian Blue cat is hypoallergenic got started—but it wasn’t from Russian Blue breeders. And if anyone knew about the workings of this remarkable breed, it would be the people who have lived with them for years 24/7. Please read this article to learn more.

• BLUE AURA KITTENS •

Kittens are home-raised, and they leave at the age of 16 weeks.

The price of our kittens is $2500 ( surgery included ). We feed high-quality food and we test all of our breeding cats.

The deposit amount is $500, this is non-refundable and non-negotiable.

The deposit will go toward the final amount. The idea of a deposit is to ensure our kitten owner is financially committed to getting a kitten. It will also help me to have a much better idea of how many kittens are truly spoken for. We will request an additional $1000 upon selection of your chosen kitten, this typically happens around 2-3 months old, sometimes it can be longer because we reserve the right to have our “pick” for our breeding program. The remaining balance of $1000 will be due upon your kitten's collection.

We do prefer kittens to go home as a pair, while each kitten is $2500, we are willing to honor a discount price on the second kitten:)

Our price comes with a complete set of vaccinations ( 3 sets of Vaccines + rabies, which means your kitten is done for its first year ☺️ )

Blue Aura follows the AAHA / AAFP Feline vaccination protocols

Health • Temperament • Beauty

Health, temperament, and the appearance of the cat are equally important. While some breeders prefer to prioritize one over the other, here in Blue Aura we aim to focus all aspects at the same time. This may sound ambitious to some, but here is a breakdown of how we are doing it.

Health

When discussing health, we're referring to both physical and mental well-being. Physically, all our kittens and cats are tested for FeLV and FIV. They receive all required vaccines and are examined by licensed veterinarians. The parents undergo testing before breeding, and their DNA test results are transparent on the "Our Cats" page. All our breeding cats are insured with breeder insurance to protect them in emergencies.

Our kittens stay with their mothers until they are weaned or until the mother decides they are old enough to be on their own. We never separate kittens from their mothers, and we do not send young kittens away. Kittens receive plenty of playtime, stimulation, and socialization before going to their new homes. This helps them mentally prepare for adapting to a new environment and reduces the likelihood of stress.

We study Russian Blue pedigrees and understand the line we work with. We can provide information about the cats in the generations behind the pedigree and share our thoughts and vision in our breeding matches.

Temperament

Socialization plays a significant role in shaping temperament. Upon going to their new homes, most of our kittens immediately engage in play and bond with their new owners. We prioritize socialization from an early age to expose them to various sounds and experiences. This includes visits to pet stores, my workplace (as I work full time), and car rides. Kittens interact with different people, are held by strangers, and some even encounter dogs for the first time. These experiences are crucial for their development. By the time they are ready to transition to their new homes, they exude confidence.

In addition, we showcase our cats at cat shows. These events pose the ultimate challenge for a cat's temperament, with open spaces, numerous unfamiliar cats, varied scents, and bustling crowds. A kitten that remains composed and less prone to overstimulation will adapt more easily to their new environment, reducing the risk of stress-related illness. This aspect is vital as stress can adversely affect a cat's health.
